Production of laser printer cartridges according to DIN 33870
Since the start of 2001, DIN 33870 regulates the process by which used toner modules are prepared and inspected. The standard has created the first uniform requirements for the recycling of laser printer cartridges and offers the consumer objectively verifiable and reliable information for product selection.

NDT produces cartridges that consistently meet all requirements of DIN 33870. And more: the standards according to which NDT products are manufactured are even more stringent than those of DIN 33870 NDT products not only meet the quality requirements of DIN 33870, they exceed them. We always equip the laser printer cartridges with a new OPC drum and new electrical contacts. These two production steps alone make NDT quality products exceed the requirements of DIN 33870.

DIN 33870 creates standard quality criteria for the production of laser printer cartridges.

What does DIN33870 regulate?

1. Comparison tests between five OEM cartridges and five recycled cartridges.
2. Differentiation and specification of the recycling steps that the module passed through.
3. Date of the recycling.
4. All wearing parts must be replaced.
5. The testing environment (test in climate chamber, fixed criteria for blackness, mileage, adhesion).
6. AMES test for the toner preparations used.
7. Safety data sheet for every product.
8. Exact labeling of manufacturer, type, usage area, recycling and mileage on cartridge and packaging.
9. Test report for every product.

DIN 33870: Safety data sheet
In addition to printing quality and mileage, DIN 33870 makes environmental and health factors of recycled laser cartridges transparent to the consumer. For this reason, there is a safety data sheet for every product produced according to the standard. It provides important information for the safe use of the product in accordance with EU Directive 91/155/EEC.

At NDT, the safety data sheet was part of the standard information material for all laser printer cartridges even before the introduction of DIN 33870.

The AMES test
In the AMES test, we test whether our toners present health risks and, for instance, that they don't affect genetic material. The result of the AMES test proves:

This includes a print image test to check blackening, gray scales and edge sharpness for which every cartridge prints five to seven pages. In parallel with this, we constantly perform long-term tests that cover the entire print capacity of our toner cartridges.

With their own quality management, our research and development departments and constant upgrading of the production systems guarantee that NDT products will continue to meet the highest quality standards in the future.

NextDayToner brand laser toner cartridges are manufactured according to DIN 33870, and come with a 24 month Warranty.

Use of NextDayToner brand toner products will not affect the statutory warranty of the original machine manufacturer, and NextDayToner guarantees that NextDayToner brand toner products will not cause any damage or premature wear on your device. We are not aware of any damage arising from proper use of NextDayToner brand toner products. We provide no compensation for damages resulting from improper use.

Should verifiable damage to a device result from the use of NextDayToner brand toner products, NextDayToner brand toner will reimburse the repair costs incurred. However, no more than the current value of the damaged part of device. The reimbursement shall only be provided if you notify us immediately of the type and scope of the damage.
